DJ BORZIN / Balkan Fever Helsinki
No one really knows how Dj Borzin was born. Many people, like the fine officials of the municipality of Hamburg, as well as German and Iranian kinfolk, know how, where and when Borzin was born. Something happened when Borzin and the record player first collided in some dark space somewhere, tendrils of cigarrette smoke and the siren song of needle on vinyl inevitably drawing the two together, like the strings on a puppet. So then there was DJ Borzin.
40 years ago, that much we know.
Wherever he went, the music flowed. Top clubs in the happening Hamburg of the 80s and 90s, playing parties with and for Prince, James Brown, Beastie Boys & Run DMC, Tricky, Sussan Deyhim, Trans Global Underground... Happening under- and overground parties in Helsinki, Finland in the 90s, 00s and now 10s.
For a long time DJ Borzin heart has been beating with a powerful Balkan syncopation, saying "Opa! Opa!" when the normal person's heart says "Ba-boom!" It's a medical mystery, but it gives him inhuman party strength. In 2009, together with DJ Levy he created the Club Balkan Fever Helsinki and since then he has played alongside Shazalakazoo, Robert Soko, Gaetano Fabri, Dj Shotnez of Balkan Beat Box, Dj Click, Ahilea, Dj Scratchy, Dj Tagada, Baba Zulu ,Shantel, Max Pashm, Mahala Rai Banda, Besh o Drom, Fanfare Ciocarlia, Boban i Marko Markovic, Las Balkineras, Gogol Bordello, Gotan Project, Omar Souleyman and many more.

VLADIMIR KEKEZ / Balkan Fever Helsinki
Vladimir Kekez (YUG) is a percussionist originally coming from Yugoslavia, Serbia. Playing influence from Balkans, over to Africa, alongside South America and moving to Asia are a perfect way to describe sphere of his drumming interest. Alongside his involvement with Balkan Fever Helsinki, he has been playing with AFROCOLA, No Ones Land and many other artists like Mustat Silmat, Jaakko Laitinen ja Väärä Raha, etc. Currently he is playing with Ultimate Dance Sextet worldwide fusion orchestra.
